Second-Hand Recap: 2015 Queens US Air Guitar Qualifier

IT'S STARTING, YOU GUYS!! The 2015 US Air Guitar season has kicked off last night with a brand-new qualifier, in Queens, where they've never had one before. History in the making!

This was a small qualifier, with 5 contestants and therefore two making it to the semi-finals. It's also super early in the season. Think of this one as a sort of amuse-bouche (should I have said "AIRmuse-bouche"? Probably not, right?) for the rest of the season. A tasty little morsel to get you excited for everything that is to come.

Bat NeedlesNearly everything I know about it, and all of the photos, come from man-on-the-scene reports from Spudboy. He himself came in a very respectable 3rd, although since there were a small number of competitors, his third-place showing did not send him through to semis. The winner was Ricky Stinkfingers, who ran around the stage chugging beer and then, I think, air-motorboated the entire audience. Second place went to Chode Soda, which is... a name. The other two competitors were Bat Needles and Dag Nasty, and that of those 3, two were new to the game (but acquitted themselves very well).

I hope everyone who didn't win comes to one of the other New York-area qualifiers this season and takes their second (or third, or fourth) chance at it! It's the best time of the year!
