It's starting! The 2014 US Air Guitar season is officially underway (having begun on May 1 with the Brooklyn Qualifier, in fact), and that the Boston Qualifier is in less than TWO WEEKS! While we've announced the bare bones facts of the qualifier (where, when, and how to sign up), this post will give you all of the details as we know them so far.
Where and When
May 24th, 5pm (competitors should show up at 4pm to pick numbers, get changed, limber up, and perform arcane rituals).
TT the Bear's Place: 10 Brookline St., Central Sq. Cambridge MA (just off Mass Ave beside the Middle East)
Who
Your host: 2013 recipient of the Award for Relentless Commitment to the Bit in the Face of Inclement Weather and Sobriety, Captain Airhab. His sobriety will be inclement this evening as well.
Your judges: The ever-jazzy Barry Tattle returns to give out scores (and his number, if you are a lovely lady), alongside Philadelphia air guitar stalwart President Baberham Lincoln and new judge Allix Mortis.
Competitors include such Boston air guitar luminaries as Danny Tanner Tantrum, Operation Rockapussy, Filthy Fingers, and last year's Boston winner, Rockupine! And YOU, maybe? If you want to give it a whirl, click here to sign up:
JUST ANNOUNCED, there will also be a half-time performance by the delightful and charming Marianne Toilet and the Runs! So now you have another reason to come - and a mission to help peer-pressure the members of the band into being walk-on competitors.
How
